The TracTive X-TREME rear shock for the KTM 790 ADVENTURE (S) uses a closed, pressurised design with a separation piston to keep the damping oil and gas properly managed for consistent performance. This unit provides external adjustability for compression and rebound damping, along with a hydraulic preload adjuster for tool-free preload changes. It is specified to raise ride height by +40 mm, which will change chassis attitude and setup requirements.

Who is this for?

Riders who want a serviceable, externally adjustable rear shock with straightforward control over compression, rebound and preload. It also suits riders intentionally setting the bike up with more rear ride height for their preferred chassis balance.

Before You Install

  • Plan for the +40 mm rear ride height change: re-check sag, chain slack, and overall chassis balance after installation.
  • Verify clearance and routing for the hose-mounted reservoir and its mounting position before final tightening.
  • After fitting, re-check fasteners and adjusters after the first ride as part of normal workshop practice.

Serviceability/Lifecycle

As a closed, pressurised unit with a separation piston, this shock is designed to be maintained and serviced as part of normal suspension lifecycle. Keeping oil and gas separated helps maintain damping consistency between services.

This TracTive product has been assembled with the utmost care and tested according to ISO9001:2015 Quality system. In the unlikely event that the product does not fulfill your expectations because of faulty materials or manufacturing errors, please contact us through your dealer.

Teknik Motorsport Pty Ltd warrants that if, within 24 months of the date of sale the product is found to be defective as a result of manufacturing errors or faulty components, the product will be repaired free of charge by us, or by a TracTive approved repairer at our discretion.

Warranty covers the direct service material cost, service labour cost ($80/hr AUD) and shipping costs of the service partner. Other costs will be regarded on a case by case basis by Teknik Motorsport and TracTive.

 When a claim is made under the warranty, the following conditions have to be met:

  • You must have read the instructions carefully before mounting the product in the vehicle or adjusting the product.
  • The product has to be installed and adjusted as described in the instructions
  • The product must have been maintained and serviced in accordance with the recommendations in the manual. If not described in the manual, the recommended service intervals for regular street use: every 30.000 km or max 2 years, whichever is earlier.
  • Warranty shall apply only when TracTive original parts, procedures and tools have been used to service and/or repair, and if service and repair is performed by designated TracTive partners.
  • The product may not have been neglected, improperly used, altered or subjected to excessive loads. Excluded from warranty are normal wear, damage and rust.
  • A sales receipt or other proof of purchase originally eminating from Teknik Motorsport Pty Ltd. No warranty will be given on TracTive or Touratech products not purchased from or through Teknik Motorsport pty ltd.
  • Excluded from warranty are in particular products which are used in vehicles that are intended or suitable for taking part in sporting events, or have actually been used this way.
  • Recommended service interval for Motorsport applications: every season, or every 50 hours, every 10.000km or after any perceived loss in performance.
