The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock is built to improve control and consistency on the Ducati Hypermotard 1100 S in real-world road riding. It is a purpose-designed replacement unit that focuses on maintaining traction and chassis stability through changing loads and surfaces. This model uses a gas-pressurised, oil/gas separated design to help keep damping behaviour consistent during sustained use.

Base setup (factory preset)

This shock is supplied with an Ohlins baseline setting intended as a starting point for typical road use. From there, fine-tuning is normally done by first setting sag with preload, then balancing rebound and compression to suit tyre choice, pace and road conditions.
