The Ohlins STX 36 Supersport rear shock for the Kawasaki Ninja 400(R) is built to provide controlled damping and consistent chassis feedback under demanding riding. Developed from Ohlins racing know-how, it focuses on stability, traction and predictable response. It’s designed as a rear mono shock replacement for riders who want a more tunable suspension package.

Ohlins suspension is engineered with a strong focus on damping control and repeatable performance. The STX 36 Supersport family is aimed at sporty road and track use where clear feedback and adjustability matter.

Who this shock is for

Suited to Kawasaki Ninja 400(R) riders chasing improved control during braking, corner entry and drive out. A good match for regular track day use or fast road riding where the standard rear shock can feel under-damped or inconsistent.

Shock design & features

This model uses an STX 36 architecture with a gas-pressurised, oil/gas separated design to help maintain damping consistency as conditions change. It’s designed to improve rear tyre contact and support the chassis through load transitions.

Tuning controls

Adjustment is provided for rebound damping and compression damping, allowing you to balance grip and stability to suit tyres, pace and surface conditions. These controls are intended to make setup changes clear and repeatable.

Before you install

Confirm fitment for the Kawasaki Ninja 400(R) and inspect linkage, bearings and mounting hardware condition before installation. After fitting, set sag and baseline damping to suit rider weight and intended use, then fine-tune from there.
