The Ohlins KA2190 STX 46 MX is a rear mono shock absorber developed for Kawasaki KX 85 motocross applications. Built around Ohlins’ STX architecture, it’s designed to deliver consistent damping response and clear chassis feedback across changing track conditions. This unit is supplied without a spring, allowing the correct rate to be selected for rider weight and use.

STX 46 MX shocks are engineered for riders who want dependable control and tuneability from a purpose-built motocross damper. The design focuses on stability through braking bumps, support in corners, and traction on acceleration, with damping behaviour intended to remain consistent as conditions vary.

Shock design & features

This is an oil/gas separated, gas-pressurised shock design intended to reduce fade and maintain predictable damping during repeated heavy impacts. The STX layout separates damping functions for more controlled response and improved feel at the rear wheel.

Tuning controls

The KA2190 provides external adjusters for rebound damping and compression damping. This allows changes to how quickly the shock extends after an impact and how it resists compression under bumps, landings, and load transfer.

No spring is supplied; confirm the correct spring for your application before installation
Check linkage, swingarm bearings, and mounting hardware condition to get the full benefit of the shock
