The Ohlins KT2090 STX 46 MX is a rear mono shock absorber developed for KTM 85 SX motocross use. Built around Ohlins’ STX architecture, it’s designed to deliver consistent damping control and clear chassis feedback in demanding off-road conditions. Supplied without a spring, it is intended to be matched with the correct spring separately.

Shock design & features

This shock uses a pressurised, oil/gas separated design to support damping consistency under heat and repeated impacts. The STX 46 MX layout is intended to provide stable control through the stroke and maintain traction when conditions and loads change quickly.

Tuning controls

The KT2090 provides external rebound adjustment and compression adjustment across two circuits, allowing you to tune behaviour under both sharper hits and more general chassis movements. This makes it suitable for adapting to different tracks, grip levels and rider preferences without internal changes for every adjustment step.

  • Spring is not supplied; refer to the specified spring series in the notes and select the correct rate for the rider and use
  • Confirm eye-to-eye length and fitment during installation and setup
  • Use the recommended Ohlins oil noted for service work
