The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock for the Suzuki GSR 750 is built to improve chassis control and consistency for everyday road riding. It uses a gas-pressurised, oil/gas separated design to keep damping stable as conditions change. Designed around Ohlins race-derived architecture, it’s intended to deliver clearer feedback and more predictable grip without needing radical setup changes.

Ohlins street shocks are engineered with the same damping principles used in competition, adapted for real-world road surfaces and road tyres. The focus is on controlled movement, stability and usable adjustment rather than harshness.

Shock design & features

This is a monotube shock with a separate gas chamber (not an emulsion shock), helping reduce cavitation and maintain damping consistency. The STX 46 Street platform is designed to improve rear-wheel contact and support under acceleration, braking and cornering transitions.

Tuning controls

This shock includes rebound damping adjustment, allowing you to control how quickly the rear returns after being compressed. A threaded spring preload adjuster is also provided to set ride height balance and suit rider load and sag targets.

Base setup (factory preset)

It arrives with an Ohlins baseline configuration intended to work as a stable starting point for the GSR 750. From there, preload is typically set first for your weight and usage, then rebound is fine-tuned to match tyre behaviour and road conditions.

Before you install

Confirm the correct fitment for your exact model year and any linkage or ride-height changes already on the bike. After installation, re-check fasteners and clearances through full suspension travel, then set sag and damping in small steps.
