The Ohlins YA144 is an STX 36 twin rear shock set for Yamaha SRX 400 and SRX 600 models. Built around Ohlins street performance architecture, it is intended to improve control and consistency through more stable damping. This is a twin-shock rear setup designed for predictable handling and clearer feedback at the rear tyre.

Ohlins suspension is developed with a focus on damping stability and tunability, aiming to keep chassis behaviour consistent as conditions change. The YA144 follows this approach for classic twin-shock Yamaha applications.

Who this shock is for

Suited to SRX riders who want a more controlled rear end for spirited road riding and track day use. It is also a practical option when replacing tired original twin shocks where damping consistency has fallen away over time.

Shock design & features

This is a gas-pressurised twin-shock design to help maintain damping consistency during longer or harder rides. The damping system uses separated oil/gas architecture rather than an emulsion-style layout, supporting stable response under sustained use.

Tuning controls

Adjustment is provided for rebound damping. This allows you to tune how quickly the shock extends after compression, helping balance rear grip, ride quality and chassis attitude to suit tyres, load and riding style.

Before you install

Confirm fitment for Yamaha SRX 400 / SRX 600 and check general condition of swingarm bushes, linkage points (if applicable) and mounting hardware.
Set sag and verify spring preload for your typical riding load before making damping changes.
Make one change at a time and road test on familiar surfaces to understand the effect.
