The TracTive X-PERIENCE + HPA rear shock for the BMW R nineT /5 (2020–2024) is a closed, pressurised mono-shock designed to provide consistent damping across changing conditions. This unit uses an oil/gas-separated design rather than an emulsion layout, helping reduce fade during sustained use. It features external adjusters for rebound and both high- and low-speed compression, plus hydraulic preload adjustment (HPA) for quick spring preload changes without tools.

Who is this for?

  • Riders who want broad tuning range for road use and variable loads (solo, luggage, or a passenger).
  • Owners who prefer convenient preload changes via an external hydraulic adjuster.
  • Those looking for a consistent, pressurised damping system suited to long rides and mixed conditions.

Design & features

  • Closed, pressurised shock construction.
  • Oil/gas separation piston design (not emulsion), supporting stable damping performance during extended use.
  • Mono-shock configuration for the BMW R nineT /5 rear application.
  • Hydraulic preload adjuster (HPA) integrated for convenient preload changes.

Tuning Controls

  • Rebound damping adjustment.
  • Compression damping adjustment with separate high-speed and low-speed control.
  • Hydraulic spring preload adjustment (HPA).

Before You Install

  • Confirm fitment for BMW R nineT /5 model years 2020–2024 and verify this is the correct rear shock for your exact variant.
  • Set sag and baseline adjustments after installation to suit rider weight and typical load.
  • If you regularly change loads, note your preferred preload and damping settings for repeatability.

Serviceability/Lifecycle

  • Closed, pressurised shock designs are intended to be serviceable to maintain performance over time.
  • Periodic inspection for leaks, bushing wear, and adjuster function is recommended as part of normal maintenance.

Is It Right For You?

  • Choose this option if you want maximum external damping control (rebound plus high/low-speed compression) along with easy preload changes via HPA.
  • If you prefer a simpler setup with fewer adjusters, a different configuration may be a better match.
