About KoubaLink

People come in a wide variety of heights, but a stock motorcycle only comes in one height. If you've bought or wish to buy a bike that is too tall for you, your feet don’t touch the ground or get a secure footing. Picking up a motorcycle after its fallen over can shatter your confidence in riding, but there are options - like fitting a lowering link. KoubaLink have been making lowering links for offroad motorcycles for over 20 years at their production facility in Boise, Idaho, USA.

We are often asked why motorbikes are so tall? Modern adventure & dirtbikes strive to have high ground clearance & long suspension travel for added offroad ability. The downside is high seat heights. Lowering also lowers the bike's centre of gravity making it easier to handle for younger or shorter riders. Koubalinks create a lowered seat height by altering the rear shock linkage geometry & are often available in a variety of heights. They are machined from billet aluminium & assembled using OEM quality bearings & seals.

For most applications, fitting a link kit is just as simple as replacing the stock linkage - usually taking under an hour depending on whether you need to adjust rear sag or slide the height of the fork tubes. Basic tools are needed like a bike stand (a milk crate can work though) & a socket set - a torque wrench & spring preload collar spanner are useful though. There are a few exceptions, for example the late model KTM 690 needs machining of the linkage to fit the lowest option links - where such mods are needed they will be listed on the website product descriptions & printed instructions.

Please Note: Lowering the front and/or rear of your motorcycle changes the geometry & may affect handling. Use caution after making changes & adjustments!
