Information

The Ohlins KT1690 is a rear STX 46 MX shock absorber application for the KTM 85 SX. Built around a pressurised, separated oil/gas damping design, it’s intended to deliver consistent control across changing track conditions. Spring supply and selection are handled separately, so the correct spring must be chosen for rider weight and use.

STX 46 MX units are developed with Ohlins off-road racing experience and are designed for repeatable damping behaviour and clear feedback at the rear wheel. The pressurised architecture helps maintain damping consistency as temperatures and pace vary.

Tuning controls

This shock includes external adjustment for rebound damping and compression damping, giving you scope to balance rear grip, squat and stability to suit track conditions and rider preference.

Before you install

No spring is supplied with this unit. It requires a 00698-series spring, selected to suit the rider and intended use. Confirm spring choice and any required setup work before installation.

Serviceability/lifecycle

As a pressurised performance shock, it benefits from regular servicing to keep oil condition, sealing and damping performance consistent. Use the recommended Ohlins oil grade specified for this model during rebuilds.
