The Ohlins YA348 STX 46 Supersport rear shock absorber is built for the Yamaha YZF R1 as a focused rear suspension upgrade for fast road and track use. It uses gas-pressurised damping to help maintain consistent control under sustained load and temperature. Independent damping circuits provide a clear tuning path when you’re chasing balance and grip.

Developed from Ohlins race-derived damping knowledge, this unit is aimed at improving rear tyre contact, stability and feel under braking and drive. The STX architecture is designed to deliver predictable feedback so you can make setup changes with confidence.

Tuning controls

This shock provides external damping adjustment for both compression and rebound, allowing you to tune support and grip to suit tyres, pace and track conditions.

Base setup (factory preset)

The shock is delivered with an Ohlins baseline setup intended as a practical starting point. From there, fine adjustments to compression and rebound can be used to address ride feel, stability and traction based on your bike setup and riding environment.

Before you install

Confirm correct fitment for your Yamaha YZF R1 and inspect linkage and bearings before installation. After fitting, set sag and ensure adjusters move freely so your compression and rebound changes are repeatable.

Serviceability/lifecycle

As a performance damper, periodic servicing is part of keeping damping consistent. Regular oil and seal maintenance helps preserve performance and reliability over time, especially with frequent track use.
