The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock for Ducati 750 SS, 750 Sport, 900 SS and 900 Sport is built to improve chassis control and rider feedback in real-world road conditions. It uses a monotube design with separated oil and gas to maintain consistent damping over longer rides. The result is a more settled rear end, particularly when the pace picks up and the road surface is less than perfect.

Shock design & features

This is a rear mono shock from the STX 46 Street family. The internal architecture separates the pressurised gas from the oil, helping reduce aeration and keep damping behaviour consistent through heat and repeated bumps.

Tuning controls

Adjustment is provided for rebound damping and compression damping, allowing you to tailor how the rear recovers after bumps and how it resists movement under load. Spring preload adjustment is also provided to set ride height and support for rider weight and luggage.

Base setup (factory preset)

Ohlins supplies this unit with a proven baseline valving and spring combination for the intended Ducati applications. From that starting point, fine adjustments to preload, rebound and compression can be used to match tyre choice, road quality and riding style.

Before you install

Confirm model compatibility for your specific Ducati variant and year, and inspect linkage bearings and mounting hardware condition during installation. After fitting, set sag via preload first, then refine rebound and compression to suit your normal roads.

Serviceability/lifecycle

This Ohlins shock is fully serviceable and designed to be maintained. Periodic servicing helps keep damping performance consistent and extends component life, particularly if the bike sees regular spirited riding.
