The Ohlins STX 36 twin rear shocks for the Honda CB 750 Sevenfifty are built to deliver controlled damping and clear chassis feedback for road riding. This rear twin-shock set is designed as a matched pair to suit the bike’s rear suspension layout. It’s a practical upgrade path when you want more consistent response from the rear end without changing the character of the motorcycle.

Ohlins | Made to race, perfected to ride

Ohlins road suspension is developed from racing experience, with an emphasis on predictable feel and tuning range. The STX twin-shock format suits classic and twin-shock street bikes where balanced left/right damping matters. Expect a focus on stability, traction and communication rather than a harsh ride.

Who this shock is for

Suited to CB 750 Sevenfifty owners who ride spiritedly on the street and want better control over bumps, weight transfer and corner exits. It also suits riders refreshing tired original shocks and looking for a more adjustable, serviceable option. If you value chassis feel and want the ability to tune rebound to your preference, this is a strong fit.

Shock design & features

This is an STX 36 twin-shock design using a pressurised oil/gas system to help maintain damping consistency as conditions change. As a twin-shock rear arrangement, it is supplied as two rear units intended to work as a matched set. The overall architecture is aimed at stable damping behaviour and repeatable performance.

Tuning controls

Rebound damping adjustment is provided to let you fine-tune how the rear settles after bumps and during transitions. Spring preload adjustment is also included to set sag for rider load and typical use. Together, these adjustments help tailor comfort, grip and stability to your riding style.

Before you install

  • Confirm correct fitment for your exact CB 750 Sevenfifty model and year, and that a twin rear shock setup is required.
  • Inspect mounting hardware and bushings during installation and replace worn parts as needed.
  • After installation, set preload for rider load, then refine rebound to suit typical roads and riding pace.

Serviceability/lifecycle

Like all performance shocks, periodic servicing helps maintain damping quality and seals over time. Routine inspection for leaks, free movement and consistent damping feel will guide when service is due, especially if the bike sees frequent spirited riding.

Öhlins Motorcycle Suspension Warranty

New Öhlins motorcycle shock absorbers, front forks and cartridge kits supplied by Teknik Motorsport are covered by the applicable Öhlins manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Teknik Motorsport is an authorised Öhlins Service Centre and administers warranty claims in accordance with the Öhlins warranty conditions. The service intervals below form part of the maintenance requirements for Öhlins products supplied and supported by Teknik Motorsport.

This warranty is in addition to the consumer guarantees that apply under the Australian Consumer Law.

  • Registered motorcycles — non-competition road use Five years, subject to correct application, installation, setup and servicing every: 20,000 km or two years, whichever occurs first.
  • Registered motorcycles — adventure and light off-road use Five years, subject to correct application, spring rate, setup and servicing every: 10,000 km or annually, whichever occurs first.
  • Unregistered or competition motorcycles Two years for eligible Öhlins MX and Enduro products, subject to inspection every ten hours and servicing every: 30 operating hours or annually, whichever occurs first.

Compliance with the applicable service interval is a condition of the Öhlins manufacturer’s warranty. Evidence of servicing may be required when a warranty claim is assessed.

A seal leak, loss of damping performance or internal wear arising after the prescribed service interval has been exceeded will be treated as a service or maintenance issue rather than a manufacturing defect.

Warranty repairs

Öhlins suspension products are designed to be serviced and repaired. Where a warranty claim is approved, the normal remedy is repair of the customer’s original suspension unit using genuine Öhlins replacement parts.

Replacement of a complete shock absorber, fork or cartridge kit is not automatic and would normally occur only where the product has suffered a manufacturing failure that cannot reasonably be repaired. This is at Ohlins discretion.

Öhlins spare parts and service kits

Öhlins spare parts, seals, bushes, service kits, springs, fluids and individual components are covered only against defects present when supplied.

No fixed age-based warranty applies to wear items, service parts or consumable components. Wear, deterioration, contamination, incorrect installation and damage caused by another component are not manufacturing defects.

Öhlins gives the customer a meaningful five-year warranty on products (Units), provided the suspension is maintained as suspension should be maintained. Teknik supports that warranty locally, can inspect the product properly, and can repair it with genuine parts rather than discarding it.
