Shock design & features

This is a monotube shock with a separate gas and oil arrangement to help maintain damping consistency under sustained use. The STX 46 Adventure architecture is designed for durability and stable operation across long days on variable terrain.

Tuning controls

The HO645 provides external adjustment for rebound damping and compression damping, allowing you to tailor response for terrain, tyres, and riding style. It also includes spring preload adjustment to help set ride height and balance for rider weight and luggage.

Base setup (factory preset)

The shock is supplied with an Ohlins spring fitted from the factory. A baseline setup is established by Ohlins to suit the intended application, giving you a solid starting point before fine-tuning preload, rebound, and compression to preference.

  • Set rider sag via spring preload first, then fine-tune rebound and compression damping.
