Shock design & features

This is a monotube shock with a separated oil and gas design to help maintain damping consistency over sustained rough-road use. It is intended for rear fitment on the Transalp and suits adventure-touring conditions where heat management and control are priorities.

Tuning controls

This shock provides external rebound damping adjustment to refine how the rear recovers after bumps and undulations. It also includes an external preload adjuster to set ride height and support for changes in rider weight, luggage or a pillion.

Base setup (factory preset)

The shock is supplied with an Ohlins baseline setting intended as a starting point for the application. Use preload to achieve the correct stance for your typical load, then adjust rebound to balance comfort, grip and stability across your usual surfaces.

Before you install

Inspect linkage bearings and mounting hardware, and address any wear before fitting new suspension. After installation, set sag and verify clearance through the full range of travel, especially if you regularly carry added load.
