The Ohlins KA763 STX 46 Street rear shock is built to improve damping control and chassis stability on the Kawasaki VN 2000. It uses a gas-pressurised monotube design to help maintain consistent damping feel as conditions change. Set up correctly, it offers clearer feedback and more controlled movement over bumps and during braking.

Tuning controls

This shock provides rebound damping adjustment, allowing you to tailor how quickly the shock extends after compression. It also features length adjustment to help fine-tune ride height and chassis attitude.

Base setup (factory preset)

Supplied with an Ohlins baseline setting intended as a starting point for street riding. From there, rebound and length can be adjusted to suit load, pace, and road conditions.

Before you install

Confirm mounting condition and alignment at the linkage/frame points before fitting
Set initial ride height via the length adjuster conservatively, then verify clearance and handling balance
After installation, re-check fasteners and function through full suspension movement

Serviceability/lifecycle

As a rebuildable Ohlins unit, the KA763 can be serviced to restore performance over time. Regular servicing helps maintain damping consistency and protects internal components, particularly on high-mileage or rough-road use.
