The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock for the Suzuki SV 650 and SV 650X is built to deliver controlled damping and clear feedback for real-world road riding. Shock design & features

This is a gas-pressurised, oil/gas separated rear shock (not an emulsion design), helping the damping remain consistent as the shock works through heat and repeated movement. The STX 46 Street layout is intended to provide stable damping characteristics and reliable feel across typical street conditions.

Tuning controls

This shock provides rebound damping adjustment so you can fine-tune how quickly the rear returns after compression. It also includes a spring preload adjustment to set ride height balance and suit load, rider preference, and tyre choice.

Base setup (factory preset)

The shock is supplied with an Ohlins baseline tune intended to suit the standard motorcycle and general street use. From there, small changes to preload and rebound can be used to tailor comfort, grip and support to your riding conditions.

Before you install

  • Confirm model and year compatibility for Suzuki SV 650 and SV 650X before installation.
  • After fitting, set sag via spring preload and then refine rebound to match your tyre, pace and road surface.
  • If your bike carries regular luggage or a passenger, expect to revisit preload settings.
