Compression adjustment primarily influences support under acceleration and when the rear is loaded through corners, shaping chassis attitude and how firmly the bike rides into the stroke. Preload sets ride height and initial support, and is used to establish baseline balance before damping changes.

Factory baseline intent

The baseline valving is oriented toward supersport track use on the RSV4 platform, where clear responses to setup changes are important. With a sound starting point, fine tuning can be done to match tyre choice, track grip, and rider preference.
